Are mint and coffee contraindicated ?
No! The homeopathic medicine is not antagonized by mint. This deep-rooted belief results from a misunderstanding of Hahnemann’s work. Hahnemann recommended not to absorb anything that could have a medicinal influence and reduce the effects of the dose. He thus contraindicated camomile and mint teas, very much appreciated in his time.
Consequence: classic mint toothpastes can be used. However, so-called homeopathic toothpastes must be avoided as much as possible, as they interfere with the dose, and can induce poisoning symptoms with time.
The homeopathic medicine is not antagonized by coffee neither. In some cases, doses have even been dropped into the patient’s coffee ...
However, some patients with unhealthy lifestyles suffer from true coffee poisoning or poisoning to any other stimulant and must completely stop consuming such products. Coffee can sometimes act as a real poison when the patient absorbs some Nux-vomica. In such a case, the physician must inform you about the possible interactions. Also, oysters are contraindicated with Lycopodium, onions with Thuya, strawberries with Oxalic acidum, fat with Pulsatilla, etc.
