What are your drugs made of?
Many of the numerous medicines we have at our disposal are made from plant macerates, such as Belladonna, monkshood, Byronia, etc., that is substances that were used in the ancient official medicine. However, most of these medicines are short-lasting, do not treat the organism in depth, and are dedicated to acute conditions. The mineral, chemical, organic or metallic remedies such as Sulfur, Kalium carbonicum, Ambra grisea, Phosphorus (respectively: sulphur, potassium carbonate, grey amber, phosphorus), have a much more powerful and durable action and can thus eradicate chronic diseases. In a general way, all the substances dynamised according to the homeopathic mode of preparation and administered repeatedly to receptive healthy subjects can induce symptoms. A substance is used as a medicine once all the symptoms it induces are listed.
Thus, substances perfectly inert in their raw state such as ordinary kitchen salt, coal, silica, can become, once dynamised, precious medicines. This is another of Hahnemann’s major discoveries.
